Eyes Above the Water
The moment Peter's foot left the boat, everything about his world rearranged itself. The wind did not stop. The waves did not still. What changed was the direction of his gaze.
There is a temptation, when God calls us into something impossible, to audit the conditions before we obey, to want calmer water first, quieter winds first, more evidence first. But Peter's water never calmed before he stepped out. It calmed because he stepped out, and even then, only after his eyes found Jesus again.
This is the pattern behind every genuine step of faith: circumstances remain volatile long after obedience begins. What changes is not always the storm. What changes is who commands your attention inside it.
